First-time Users select “Sign up” to create a new account to access multiple accounts and functions using one User ID. Returning Users enter the User ID and password they created when they registered the account.

First-time Users create their User Profile information. Retain your User ID and password to gain access in the future.

Select from the questions in the drop down menu and choose an answer you can remember. The answer will be required to reset your password if forgotten.

Review the Terms of Use, select “I accept” to continue and choose Create Your Profile or Cancel to exit the system.

User Profile has been created.

From the Menu, choose the function you want.

Enter the 11-digit Texas taxpayer number for the account you wish to access.

Choose the Tax/fee from the available Taxes/Fees column to access the account.

Enter the WebFile Number. It is printed in the upper left corner of the tax report we mail to each taxpayer and on most notices (Example: RT666666).

By checking “I Agree” and clicking “Continue”, the account holder is agreeing to the terms and conditions of use.

The User’s Access Rights are confirmed.

The chosen tax is now in the Assigned Taxes/Fees column and is accessible.

Required Plug-ins

In 2015, the Texas Legislature passed House Bill 855, which requires state agencies to publish a list of the three most commonly used Web browsers on their websites. The Texas Comptroller’s most commonly used Web browsers are Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Apple Safari.
