Sales Tax Filing Methods


File sales tax returns via the Internet. Active sales tax businesses can file and pay returns using WebFile.


Use the telephone to file a sales tax return if you have one location and no sales or more than one location and no sales at any of them.

Electronic Tax Filing

Enables approved taxpayers to use their PC and modem to transmit sales tax, direct pay, natural gas, crude oil and IFTA (International Fuels Tax Agreement) return data.

Electronic Funds Transfer

Enables payments to be electronically transferred from your financial institution to the Comptroller's bank.

Required Plug-ins

In 2015, the Texas Legislature passed House Bill 855, which requires state agencies to publish a list of the three most commonly used Web browsers on their websites. The Texas Comptroller’s most commonly used Web browsers are Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Apple Safari.
