Rylander Reports
Dear Readers:I am pleased to announce that we have redesigned the agency's website, Windows on State Government. It is more user-friendly. It is bolder, more focused and, most important of all, it contains more information. It is our goal to offer a state-of-the-art web site that allows Texans quick access to valuable reports and information that this agency produces.
The Comptroller's web site features state and local economic and demographic data, special reports on economic trends, Texas School Performance Review reports, and much more.
To assist taxpayers, the site now contains more detailed information about Texas taxes; tax forms to download; how qualifying taxpayers can file tax returns online; and the STAR automated research system, which opens the door to the latest information about tax laws and rules.
To access the local property tax information from the web site, go to Texas taxes and choose local property taxes. You will find the latest issues of STATEMENT; the 1999 editions of Taxpayers' Rights, Remedies, Responsibilities, the Truth in Taxation Manual: A Guide for Setting Tax Rates and the Appraisal Review Board manual; model property tax forms; and, the addresses and phone numbers for the county appraisal districts.
We plan to add more information and new features to the web site in the future. I am committed to making information about state government easily available to Texas taxpayers. Please let me know what other information you would like to see on our web site. Thanks for all that you do for Texas.
Sincerely,
