2001 Property Value StudyPTD Mailed 2001 PVS Reports
The Comptroller's Property Tax Division (PTD) has mailed the reporting forms for the Property Value Study (PVS) for tax year 2001. The preliminary results of the 2001 study are to be released by January 31, 2002, with final results by July 1, 2002.
PTD changes to the 2001 electronic data submission (EDS) record layout include:
AUD05 Field Not Used Field Not Used AJR42 Local Optional 3 decimal places Homestead Exemption Percentage (%)
The PTD has the ability to download and e-mail to CADs or vendors four edit reports that are generated from the program, PTD001. The file name will usually be ERRORS.TXT. In order to print these reports effectively, users will need to select and modify the entire file's font size from 10 point to 8 point and print it in landscape mode. CADs and vendors may wait to have the edit reports mailed to them.
The PTD also will generate a new set of reports for CADs and vendors to show total value amounts by taxing unit type and category codes. PTD staff will include these reports with the ERRORS.TXT file and with the mailing.
Except for the tax year, the PTD has not changed the required items on the paper reports filed by taxing units and CADs. The paper reports include the following:
- Appraisal District Report of Property Value;
- School District Report of Property Value;
- Report on Value Lost Because of the School Tax Limitation of Homesteads of the Elderly;
- School District Stratification Survey;
- County Report of Property Value; and,
- City Report of Property Value.
School districts and cities continue to report their top 10 taxpayers.
October 1, 2001 was the deadline for filing certified EDS submissions and for all paper reports with the PTD.
