Last Chance to Register
Next month begins the Comptroller's Property Tax Division (PTD) appraisal review board (ARB) training seminars. ARB members must complete a Comptroller's training course before they can participate in ARB hearings.2000 ScheduleSection 5.041, Property Tax Code, requires the Comptroller to supervise a training course for ARB members. The Comptroller's Appraisal Review Board Manual 2000 Edition will be the seminar text.
Those ARB members that attended a 1998 or 1999 ARB training course do not have to attend another training course in 2000. The certificate issued in those years is proof of completing the requirement for those ARB members. Any ARB member that attended a course in a previous year may attend this year for review, if he or she so chooses.
See a complete listing of the 22 seminar dates and locations in this issue. Each one-day seminar begins at 9 a.m. Attendees will be on their own for lunch. Each seminar concludes around 4 p.m.Registration
Persons planning to attend an ARB seminar will need to download and print the registration form.* The $10 registration fee is required to be paid in advance of the seminar. Meeting room size limits attendance at each seminar to 100.
