Foreword
This publication lists the county appraisal districts in Texas with:
- the name of the chief appraiser;
- the mailing address, street address, telephone number and fax number of the appraisal office; and
- the names of the taxing units participating in each district.

Numerical Coding System
Each taxing unit has a unique numerical code, consisting of eight numbers. For example:
001-902-02 Cayuga Independent School District
001 - Refers to the county in which the taxing unit is located; in this case, Anderson County (001).
902 - Refers to the taxing unit’s unique identifying number; also called “unit identifier”.
02 - Refers to the type of taxing unit, i.e. city, school, county, water district; in this case, a school district. See the Taxing Unit Classifications list on this page.
