- the name of the chief appraiser;
- the mailing address, street address, telephone number and fax number of the appraisal office;
- the names of the board of directors and their addresses;
- the names of the taxing units participating in each district; and
- the names of each appraisal district’s appraisal review board members.
The information in this directory was reported by appraisal districts as of July 2007. The directory will be updated periodically. Numerical Coding System
Each taxing unit has a unique numerical code, consisting of eight numbers. For example:
001-902-02Cayuga Independent School District
001 - Refers to the county in which the taxing unit is located; in this case, Anderson County (001).
902 - Refers to the taxing unit’s unique identifying number; also called “unit identifier”.
02 - Refers to the type of taxing unit, i.e. city, school, county, water district; in this case, a school district. See the Taxing Unit Classifications list on this page.
Some taxing units will have an “X” on the end of their number. The “X” indicates the taxing unit is appraised by more than one appraisal district. The unit and its unique identifying number will appear in each of the appraisal districts the unit joined. In parentheses following the taxing unit’s name will be listed the other appraisal districts in which the unit participates.
