Agricultural and Timber Registration Numbers (Ag/Timber Numbers) issued by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts must be renewed every four years, regardless of when those numbers were first issued. The current numbers expire Dec. 31, 2015.
To continue claiming the exemption on qualifying purchases on or after Jan. 1, 2016, agricultural and timber producers must renew their current Ag/Timber Number. We will post renewal information on our website in September and will send letters to those who have Ag/Timber Numbers to explain the renewal process.
Persons claiming exemption on qualifying farm machines, trailers and semitrailers must have a current Ag/Timber Number when completing an Application for Texas Title (Form 130-U).
For verification purposes, the qualifying purchasers can present you with their new registration courtesy cards, which have an expiration date on them. You can also search for current card holder information using our Ag and Timber Number Search.
