I am pleased to deliver to you the Texas State Expenditures by County 2002 report.

This report contains a listing of state expenditures by agency for each county and for the 24 Council of Government Regions. The report was compiled from accounting data generated by the Uniform Statewide Accounting System. However, for certain expenditures, we used information provided by individual state agencies to estimate the distribution of specific types of expenditures to the counties. The introductory section of the report contains an explanation of this estimation method and a listing of the categories of expenditures affected.
