Region A includes the counties of Armstrong, Carson, Childress, Collingsworth, Dallam, Donley, Hall, Hansford, Hartley, Hemphill, Hutchinson, Gray, Lipscomb, Moore, Ochiltree, Oldham, Potter, Randall, Roberts, Sherman and Wheeler.

The map also includes the location of the Canadian and Red rivers in the region; the location of the Blaine, Dockum, Ogallala and Seymour aquifers in the region; and the locations of existing reservoirs and urban areas in the region.
