Gulf Coast Metro Counties
There are nine metropolitan counties in the Central Texas Region.
They are:
- Austin County with Bellville as its county seat.
- Brazoria County with Angleton as its county seat.
- Chambers County with Anahuac as its county seat.
- Fort Bend County with Richmond as its county seat.
- Galveston County with Galveston as its county seat.
- Harris County with Houston as its county seat.
- Liberty County with Liberty as its county seat.
- Montgomery County with Conroe as its county seat.
- Waller County with Hempstead as its county seat.
The other four counties are:
- Colorado County with Columbus as its county seat.
- Matagorda County with Bay City as its county seat.
- Walker County with Huntsville as its county seat.
- Wharton County with Wharton as its county seat.
