In 2006:
- 2,114 trillion Btu came from wood and all wood-derived fuels.
- 758 tillion Btu came from biofuels, which include ethanol and biodiesel.
- 404 trillion Btu came from waste, which includes municipal solid waste, landfill gas, sludge waste and agricultural byproducts.
