Horizontal-Axis and Vertical-Axis Wind Turbines
An energy-generating windmill has 15 components—Blades, Rotor, Pitch, Brake, Low-Speed Shaft, Gear Box, Generator, Controller, Anemometer, Wind Vane, Nacelle, High-Speed Shaft, Yaw Drive, Yaw Motor, Tower. The wind turns the rotor blades; this motion spins a drive shaft that in turn spins the turbine of a generator to make electricity.
