The Comptroller's office has compiled information, links and dollar amounts for potential funding opportunities in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Funding opportunities include competitive grants, grants distributed through preexisting formulas and loan programs. Where possible, we have indicated the amounts available in Texas. Information is subject to change.

Texas will receive $147.5 million total. Of that amount, 60 percent ($90.3 million) will be distributed by the state and 40 percent ($57.2 million) will be directly awarded to local entities. Of the $90.3 million received by state agencies, the Governor’s office must distribute 60 percent to local law enforcement entities. The remaining amount may be used by state agencies such as the Texas Department of Public Safety for special law enforcement purposes (including training, equipment, personnel).
