Single Contract Cuts Prices for Office Supplies
Few products bring together a more diverse mix of challenges to conducting a successful solicitation than Office Supplies. Mindful of these challenges, the Strategic Sourcing Division worked closely with state agencies and the vendor community to create a comprehensive and competitive solicitation.
This two-year collaboration has paid off as the newly awarded contract:
- is supportive of Texas-based businesses;
- increases HUB (Historically Underutilized Business) participation; and
- is extremely price-competitive.
In fact, the state has saved $660,000 (18.5 percent) over its previous contracts for office supplies.
TIBH Items: Contractors will stock a number of the most highly purchased TIBH items and will have these available for 1- to 3-day delivery. As approved by the Texas Council on Purchasing from People with Disabilities, TIBH items purchased by state agencies through this contract will be considered TIBH purchases and exception reports will not be required.
