State Government Card Transactions Now Cost Less
Credit and debit cards are most state agencies’ preferred method of payment. The state has negotiated a contract with JP Morgan Chase Bank to process these transactions and has saved more than $170,000 — a 36.6 percent reduction in fees — for participating state agencies and State of Texas CO-OP members since November 2009.
The Strategic Sourcing Division contract achieved a number of enhanced services including:
- stricter and more measurable service level requirements;
- enhanced reporting capabilities;
- quicker settlement times; and
- reduced administrative burden.
