Herbicides, Insecticides, and Chemicals

The Strategic Sourcing Division is currently developing a new Request for Proposals for herbicides, insecticides, and chemicals to be used by State agencies and CO-OP members. The current contract for these items will expire in November 2014.

The primary scope of the contract will include:

  • Herbicides (Dry and Liquid)
  • Cotton Defoliants
  • Insecticides (Dry and Liquid)
  • Adjuvants: Emulsifiers, Spreader/Stickers, Wetting Agents, etc.

The estimated annual value of the upcoming contract is $10 million. The division has been working closely with the vendor community and key stakeholders to identify areas of improvement and to update the specifications.

Required Plug-ins

In 2015, the Texas Legislature passed House Bill 855, which requires state agencies to publish a list of the three most commonly used Web browsers on their websites. The Texas Comptroller’s most commonly used Web browsers are Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Apple Safari.
