RENEWAL OPTIONS -
1.4 DELIVERY: See individual line items for delivery days after receipt of order.
1.5 MINIMUM ORDER: See individual line items
1.6 SPOT PURCHASE OPTION: None
1.7 ZONE: This is a statewide contract.
1.8 SHIPPING INFORMATION:
FOR TIBH AND OTHER VENDORS: Freight charges included in unit price
FOR TEXAS CORRECTIONAL INDUSTRIES ITEMS: F.O.B. Destination, freight
prepaid and allowed on orders totaling $100.00 or more shipped to a
single destination for Orders less than $100.00 shipped freight prepaid
and added as a separate item on invoice. Customers must not be charged
freight for partial shipments of any order with a net total of $100.00.
1.9 WARRANTY: Manufacturer's Standard.
1.10 RECYCLED PRODUCTS: Efforts have been made to identify any product meeting
the criteria definitions of recycled.

1.14 PURCHASE ORDERS: Only contract purchase orders issued through the CPA on-line
ordering system are eligible for contract pricing.
SECTION 2: HAT SPECIFICATIONS
REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL HATS LISTED ON THIS CONTRACT:
HEAD SIZES & MARKING:
a. Each hat shall be tagged as to its correct head size and oval, and guaranteed to run true and correct in size and proper oval.
b. Required Shapes:
1. Regular Oval (RO)
2. Long Oval (LO)
3. Extra Long Oval (XLO).
c. Sizes: Available for ordering in the following combinations, but not limited to:
6-1/4" 6-5/8" 6-3/4" 6 7/8"
7" 7 1/8" 7-1/4" 7-3/8" 7-1/2" 7-5/8" 7-3/4" 7 7/8"
PACKAGING:
a. Each hat shall be placed in an insert to fit securely within an individual
corrugated box.
b. Boxes shall be clearly marked with letters not less than 1/3" on the outside
with:
1. Head size and oval
2. Straw or Felt Hat
c. Size of box shall be approximately 8-1/2" x 15-1/2" x 18"
d. Box shall have sufficient size and strength to accommodate and protect hat.
e. Felt hats will be shipped in a clear plastic covering.
f. Hats shall be packaged with like sizes in cases.
SHIPMENTS:
a. All shipments shall be tied in bundles of not greater than six to a bundle.
b. All bundles shall contain same size and ovals; for example 6 each 7-1/8 R.O., 6 each 7-1/8 L.O., or 6 each 7-1/8 X.L.O.
2.1 TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY (DPS) Straw and Felt Western Style Hats
For use ONLY by DPS Law Enforcement Officers.
2.2 TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT (TPWD) Straw and Felt Western Style Hats
For use by the TPWD Game Wardens and other qualified customers.
WESTERN STYLE in accordance with Attachment F of RFP No. 201-A1-1
TPWD FELT HATS REQUIREMENTS:
A. MATERIAL: Twenty X to consist of not less than 50% beaver and the balance
rabbit and or wild hare or any mixture thereof.
B. BRIM: 4" brim with smooth trimmed edge. (
C. HAT COLOR AND TREATMENT: "Silver Belly"
D. Water resistant
E. SWEATBAND MATERIAL: Genuine sheepskin leather, 2"-Color: Black or Brown
F. PRINTING ON LEATHER SWEATBAND: Right Hand Side - Color: Gold
G. LINING: Black heavy satin.
TPWD STRAW HAT REQUIREMENTS:
A. MATERIAL: 2x2 5 Bu Japanese (Finer weave than Chinese) shantung,
3 coats of lacquer.
B. BRIM: 3-1/2" double welted with steel wire insertion for shape retention
Ventilation shall be eyelets (color, black), fully ventilated, three
each side.
C. COLOR: Ivory.
D. SWEATBAND MATERIAL: Genuine sheepskin leather - 2" - COLOR: BLACK OR BROWN
E. PRINTING ON LEATHER SWEATBAND: Right Hand Side - Color: Gold
F. OUTSIDE TRIM: Two (2) or three (3) ply band - Rayon Cotton - Color: Black.
G. LINING: White heavy satin.
2.3 TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE (TDCJ) Straw Western Style
For use by the TDCJ and other qualified customers
WESTERN STYLE STRAW in accordance with Attachment G of RFP No. 201-A1-1
A. Color: Ivory, Solid
B. Shape: Long Oval
C. Brim Width: 3-1/2" to 4" from crown base to the outer edge.
D. Crown Height: 4-1/2" to 5" from crown base to the top of the center crease.
E. Hat to have center crease and side dents.
F. Ventilation: From 1/8" To 1-1/2" completely around crown.
G. Band: Two Cords, Black, Cross Grain
H. Sweatband: Man made material, with a minimum width of 1-1/2"
I. Material: Straw, Formosan Quality, 3x
J. Tight Weave With Glaze Finish.
K. Must have at least three (3) coats of laquer varnish on brim and crown
L. No eyelets.
2.4 TEXAS RANGERS and other qualified law enforcement agencies.
WESTERN STYLE STRAW
H.1 STRAW HAT REQUIREMENTS:
REFERENCED BRAND/MODEL: Atwood Hat Company / Inspector
(Note: If bidding other the referenced brand/model, please submit full descriptive literature with proposal.
MATERIAL:
a.ECONOMY QUALITY: 2x2 5 Bu Chinese, unglazed shantung, Three (3) coats of lacquer.
b.MID GRADE QUALITY: 2x2 5 Bu Japanese (Finer Weave than Chinese) shantung, Three (3)
coats of lacquer.
c.HIGH QUALITY: 2x2 3 Bu Japanese Glazed (Finer Weave than Chinese) shantung,
Three (3) coats of lacquer.
BRIM: 3-1/2" or 4" welted with steel wire insertion for shape retention and
durability. Ventilation in approximately one (1) inch pattern completely
around the crown or 2 eyelets color black on each side. Three (3) creases
- One (1)central and two (2) sides. Be hydraulic crown creased.
COLOR: Ivory
SWEATBAND:
a. First quality lamb or goat skin two (2) inches wide.
b. Color: Black
c. Printing on the sweatband shall comply with customer's requirements on the
right side of sweatband at no additional charge.
d. Color: gold
OUTSIDE TRIM:
a. Two (2) ply band, Bow shall match the trim, Rayon Cotton material
