CMBL Search Tips
Use the various search selection criteria to create lists of potential vendors as well as retrieve specific vendor information. The help sections below explain the search criteria options for Search, Output as, Sort by, and specific vendor data options. After selecting desired search criteria, click on “Submit Search” to begin the search. Click on the “clear” button next to “Submit Search” to clear all selections. Click on the drop-down menu next to “clear” to specify the maximum number of displayed matches (i.e., all matches, 20 matches, etc.).


Specific vendor data options
Use the following optional fields to refine
vendor-specific search results:
Vendor ID Returns search results for the 13-character vendor identification number entered by the user.
example: 99999999999 or 9999999999900
Vendor Number Returns search results for the 5-character vendor file number entered by the user.
example: 99999
Vendor Name Returns search results for partial/complete vendor company name(s) entered by the user.
example: ABC Company
Includes Inactive Vendors Includes inactive vendor listings (noted in Italics) in search results based on the user's entry for Vendor ID, Vendor Number, and/or Vendor Name field(s).
NOTE: By selecting .Show Inactive Vendors,. the search engine will
query ALL vendors based on data entered in the Vendor ID, Number, and/or Name
fields, plus any other criteria options entered below. Inactive vendor data
will appear in Italics in search results.
Small Businesses only “Yes” restricts search results to small businesses; “No” does not restrict search results to small businesses -- this is the default option.
Class Code Restricts search results to vendors whose class code matches the user-supplied number from the Commodity Book identifying the class of commodity or service being searched/purchased.
example: class = 920; item= 11,14,...; ...leave item or district blank to select any
Item Restricts the search results to vendors whose item number matches the user-supplied number from the Commodity Book identifying the item within the class of commodity or service being searched/purchased.
example: item= 11,14,..
District Restricts the search results to vendors whose district number matches the user-supplied Texas Highway District number from the Texas Highway District Mapy District Map
example: district= 14,15,16,
County Restricts the search results to vendors whose county name matches the user-supplied Texas county name.
City Restricts the search results to vendors whose city name matches the user-supplied city name.
Zip Restricts the search results to vendors whose zip code matches the user-supplied zip code. Specify 5-digit zip codes like “78701” or 9-digit zip codes like “78701-1234”.



Search
The following Search criteria options specify which database
field(s) to search and return results:

All Vendors Returns active CMBL or active HUB vendor listings.
CMBL only Returns active CMBL vendor listings.
HUBs on CMBL Returns listings of all active HUB vendors registered with CMBL.
HUBs not on CMBL Returns listings of all active HUB vendors NOT registered with CMBL.
HUB Mentor Protege Returns active HUB Mentor Protege vendor listings.
HUB Directory Links to HUB Search page for HUB Category searches.
HUB Mentor Protege Agreement Listing Links to HUB Mentor Protege agreements listing the sponsoring agency and vendors.
Excluded Parties List System Search Links to the Excluded Parties List System to perform searches.
EPLS is the electronic version of the Lists of Parties Excluded from Federal Procurement and Nonprocurement Programs (Lists), which identifies those parties excluded throughout the U.S. Government (unless otherwise noted) from receiving Federal contracts or certain subcontracts and from certain types of Federal financial and nonfinancial assistance and benefits. The EPLS system must be checked prior to any award or contract renewal being made by State of Texas government entities.

Output as
The Output as choices are used as follows to format/display
the search results:
Detail List Online results page containing active links to vendor detail pages, vendor URLs, email addresses, etc.
All Contact Information Online results page containing vendor detail information.
User Defined Output Online results page containing plain text vendor information for creating text files for use with other word processors, databases, etc. to create mailing labels, form letters, etc.


Sort by
Use the following Sort by options to change the order of the
search results:
Name Sorts the results alphabetically by vendor company name.
Vendor ID Sorts the results numerically by vendor identification number.
City Sorts the results alphabetically by city.
Zip Sorts the results numerically by zip code.
Ethnicity/Gender Sorts the results alphabetically by ethnic/gender codes - specifically for HUB vendor searches.
HUB Status Sorts the results by HUB status codes - specifically for HUB vendor searches.
