Texas Comptroller's Office to Offer Local Tax Help
AUSTIN — Comptroller Susan Combs’ office will offer two free seminars to assist local taxpayers with their state taxes. The first seminar is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hutto City Council chamber, located at 401 W. Front St. Or, taxpayers may attend the second seminar on Thursday, Oct. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the William B. Travis Building, located at 1701 N. Congress Ave., Room 1.100, in Austin.
“Operating a business has many challenges, but figuring out your taxes should not be one of them,” Combs said. “Whether you are a new taxpayer or one who has been in business for many years, this seminar will help you understand the laws that apply to you and your business.”
At the seminars, taxpayers can learn about sales tax forms, taxability issues, taxpayer responsibilities and the array of services and information available from the Comptroller’s office to assist taxpayers. Comptroller representatives will answer questions and provide assistance to attendees.
