Top PortsTexas is home to four of the nation's top 10 ports in terms of total cargo volume, according to 2005 U.S. port cargo tonnage rankings from the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA). In 2005, Houston's port was the second largest in the U.S., with more than 211 million metric tons of cargo flowing in and out of the port.
