Port Brings Jobs, Impact

The Port of Houston is operating at full steam, plunging an estimated $117.6 billion into the Texas economy in 2006, according to a 2007 study by Martin Associates. In 2006, the Port of Houston generated 198,000 jobs in the state and $1.3 billion in state and local taxes.
